Bookkeeping & Payroll for Your Small Business

About CPA Web Books

Who is behind the company, how did things get started and what are our core values?

Our Beginnings

Kevin Simpson, CPA

I'm a graduate of Bowling Green State University where I earned a bachelors degree in Accounting. My first job was with Applied Motion Products, a distributor of automation controls. I served there for 2 years as the office / warehouse manager while also providing inside sales support.

I then moved into the industrial side of accounting taking a job at S.E. Johnson Companies. I started out doing large bank reconciliations and soon become the accounts payable manager.

After a year’s time, I came to the conclusion that I did not want to continue working for a large corporation. So I took a public accounting job with Beutler & Associates Inc, a firm of about 7 accountants. I specialized in small business taxes and payroll. At the same time, I assumed the role of IT Manager and was given the opportunity to upgrade all of the technology throughout the office. Information Technology quickly became my passion especially as it relates to workflow and job efficiency. After working with Beutler & Associates nearly 5 years, the firm was acquired by Tebay Mosley & Associates, resulting in a combined firm of about 20 accountants. I continued on for another year in a similar position with Tebay Mosley doing small business taxes and managing IT. From there I made the decision to invest all of my time into CPA Web Books, LLC.

The idea for CPA Web Books, LLC began in 2003 while I was working with Beutler & Associates. As I worked with small businesses I saw a real need for better bookkeeping solutions, technology being the key. So I engrossed myself in Quickbooks Online and began developing ways to collaborate with clients over the web.

Over time our services have been refined and a solid IT infrastructure has been developed, allowing us to provide full service bookkeeping or customized services--all via the web.
